How .co.tz registration works
Tanzanian country-code names are administered through tzNIC. Registrars, including The Site Weavers, collect the organisation details tzNIC currently requires and submit the request. Requirements and turnaround can change, so we do not invent a document list or a guaranteed number of hours here. Bring a clear legal name, contacts and any identification tzNIC asks for at the time, and we will tell you what is missing before we submit. Once the name is approved, we point nameservers or DNS records at your hosting and email.

- Complete any tzNIC checks that apply to that name type.
- Pay the registrar invoice, including a TRA invoice if your accounts team needs one.

After registration
Point DNS to your hosting and email, install SSL, and publish clear contact details on the website that uses the domain. Document admin logins in a shared company vault so the name does not sit on one employee’s personal email. Renew on time; an expired .co.tz is a painful recovery.
Common mistakes
Registering in a staff member’s personal name, letting the only DNS login leave the company, and buying a name without a plan for email are the usual problems. Another is pointing the website live before SSL and mail are ready, so customers hit a browser warning.
